Plantar Fasciitis/Foot Pain

Plantar Fasciitis is a potentially chronic and painful condition that occurs when the long, flat ligament on the plantar surface/bottom of the foot develops tears and inflammation. This ligament is called the plantar fascia and it runs from the heel to your toes. When you walk or run, there is a cycle of landing and propelling yourself forward when you raise yourself up on your toes as you shift your weight to your other foot, causing all your weight to be held up by the plantar fascia. Such repetitive force can pull the fascia from its attachment on your heel as well as cause damage and plantar fasciitis.

After a thorough exam, a plan of care with treatment recommendations will be made: Chiropractic adjustment to mobilize and rebalance structures, scanning and fitting for custom orthotics if needed, stretches and strengthening exercise as appropriate, as well as High Power Laser Therapy to decrease inflammation and pain associated with fasciitis and to encourage healing are the most common treatments.
